So The Avengers was a television series from the sixties and not a film, but who could deny the fashion forward and incredibly intelligent Emma Peel? Certainly not John Travolta's character (Vincent Vega) in Pulp Fiction who named her his singular celebrity crush.

Personally, Mrs. Peel was one of my childhood heroes. I would sit mesmerized in front of the television watching re-runs of her adventures with Steed. She always appeared so strong, knowledgeable, and lets be honest, her wardrobe was to die for. She is role model material y'all! If only catsuits were appropriate daywear.

You can easily channel Mrs. Peel's (somewhat updated and catsuit free) iconic style with a quick trip to your local H&M.

I Can't Get Over: The Beauty Department Tutorials

I'm not exactly the girliest of girls. I mean I like my pink, I love my Lilly Pulitzer, and I'm always down for a good cup of coffee and the latest Vogue, but I've never been one to get overly giddy over new products or tutorials. Until recently. I've started paying attention to what goes on my body, what it does to my body, and how I feel about it. I've looked into alternatives when I'm disappointed and my product count has more than doubled since the start of the year. It's been a busy month. I've also started hunting down tutorials like it's my day job.

I stumbled upon Lauren Conrad's site, The Beauty Department, and it was like finding the best cheat sheets to tons of trendy and classic looks. I've always loved Lauren Conrad's style (she's got amazing hair) and it's pretty nifty to see her lead the tutorials on occasion.

Always innovative, Target is embracing a brand spanking new platform for their next collaboration. It's been months since I've done a Movie Mondays post, so obviously this post is a bit overdue. Thanks for not giving up on me y'all!

I couldn't pick just one film for a triumphant return, so I've made y'all a little collage of my all time favorite scarf moments featuring scenes from films, television, and a few of my favorite icons.

Why the intense scarf loving?

Because if Prada's Resort 2012 ads are any indication it's the year of the scarf. And overly serious faces.

This Great Gatsby still wouldn't mind seconding the notion.

I love the idea of a scarf as an outfit making accessory, but I'm the first to admit that I'm more than a little scarf challenged.

So when I scored my Holy Grail scarf, the above Jason Wu for Target Milu Scarf, this past weekend, I knew I needed the beginnings of an education. For the basics, Target Style (via Facebook) was a wonderful resource.

Tummy Tucked

Rodial's magical Tummy Tuck has been featured in every magazine from here to England (and beyond) for what feels like eons.

At two-hundred dollars a bottle, it wouldn't matter how magical it is, it wouldn't be happening. Luckily for me (and maybe y'all), the founder of Rodial, Ms. Maria Hatzistefanis, started a secondary line for us mere mortals.

Nip+Fab's Tummy Fix is less than twenty-dollars and I can attest that it's great for tightening the skin for those already losing weight. I can't say anything about it whittling inches off when it's not used in conjunction with diet or exercising. It also works pretty darn great on stretch marks. Over all, a wonderful win-win.

Pushed Up

Y'all know my distaste for all bras from Victoria's Secret. Yet, the Miraculous Push Up Bra is pretty impressive. Adding two cup sizes = impressive in my book.

Fifty-dollars for a bra that won't last longer than a month or two = not so impressive.

Cue the 311 y'all, we're kicking it high school style! I honestly haven't shopped in a mall in quite awhile; for whatever reason, their allure left with my teens. I was shocked though, to find so many cute cardigans, perfect plaids, and adorable accessories from some of the food court's more impressive neighbors. The best part is that the current sales are also online and everything I'm featuring is under twenty-dollars!

Four Things I Bet Y'all Didn't Know About Me

I. A few summers back I interned at The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. It was absolutely amazing and I fell deeply in love with Washington DC. Unfortunately, it also opened my eyes up to how difficult it is to obtain employment in such amazing museums. Not long after, I changed my sight and major from Anthropology to Business. Regardless of the field I end up in, that internship will remain one of my most treasured experiences.

II. While I was at The University of Georgia I wrote for their independent paper, The Red and Black. I covered a section called "flick picks". They were your run of the mill movie reviews, but I really enjoyed my time with the paper. And seeing my name in print. I'm really modest like that.

III. I'm completely addicted to Diet Coke. I tried giving it up as one of my New Year's resolutions, but I had a lot of resolutions this year, and if one needs to slip through the cracks, I think Diet Coke is the least important one. I can honestly state that I no longer suffer from caffeine headaches and I'm down to only a few a week. Progress y'all!

IV. I try to help out in a big way every year. This past Christmas, I mentioned helping out with Christmas presents for Children of the World from World Help. In years past, I've headed a prom dress drive in Athens for Enchanted Closet, and during the end of my Freshman year I set up boxes on each floor of my dorm so that anyone with new and unused personal care products had an option of donating them instead of throwing them away. A lot of students didn't want to move big bottles of shampoo or body wash back home with them and one of the local women's shelters was thrilled to receive the boxes full of a variety of products. I think this is something that anyone in a college dorm could do and it's a great way to give back to the community where your college is located or your community in your home town.

Y'all know I love me a little Target/designer collaboration. Jason Wu is the latest in the line of fabulous designers to grace our local superstores with his upscale and previously unattainable (at least for us mere mortals) frocks. His fan base is as diverse as they come; the first lady is willing to throw her J. Crew aside and don his creations during key functions, while the fashion elite watch each season's creations like hawks hunting down a fat mouse, and hipsters add their own spin to his already imaginative designs. While the individual pieces in the collaboration resemble a bit of Jason Wu's Resort 2012 Collection, they are definitely more feminine. Also, unlike previous Target collaborations that had only a handful of "Online Only" items, this collection seems full of them. The collection launches in less than a month (February 6th to be precise) so let the countdown commence. Without further ado....

My Picks from Jason Wu for Target

I'm pretty much in love with this whole look, but the Lace-Printed Straight Skirt in Blush at only $29.99 is gorgeous steal and definitely on my wish-list.

Channel a modern Audrey Hepburn with this Flared Dress in Cream with Black Patent Belt for $59.99. Certainly not the most inexpensive piece in the collection, but the white is going to look stunning with a tan this Spring and oh, the impression it will leave! This beaut is one of the online exclusives,

so if it's a must have for y'all, you better find a Starbucks drip of your very own for the night of the collection's launch! I see these selling out fast!

I love the navy/red/pink combination in the Poplin Dress in Navy. It also reminds me a wee bit of Kate Spade and y'all know I adore Miss Spade! Another voluminous steal at only $39.99.

Remember the cat pattern in Miu Miu's Spring/Summer 2010 collection? I was obsessed with it and since I'm in the running to be a future cat lady, I might as well embrace my future vocation in a fashionable way. Mr. Wu's cats are also featured on a tote, but after all the use I've gotten out of my Missoni for Target scarf, the Cats Scarf for under twenty-dollars is my last and final pick from the collection.

Things That Rock My Socks Off

~I tried the Coconut Pancakes with Tropical Syrup from The Original Pancake House yesterday and they were magical. I want them again. Right now would be nice.

~I was able to get a free textbook rental from Neebo for my Operations Management course. I just had to pay $7.99 for shipping. Since the book was just published last month, there was no possible way for me to purchase it used and purchasing the book new would have cost me almost $250.

Neebo's offering 100,000 free rentals on a first come, first serve basis. They're going to be featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight, so you better get a move on and get your free rental before they're gone! This is an amazing deal for college students and just so you know, my book came in early today, in great condition, and I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again (especially if the book was free and all I needed to pay was a nominal shipping charge)!

~Bo Basset had her first day of doggy daycare on Monday and she was a champ. She will only be going to daycare on Mondays, but I'm thinking she wouldn't mind attending everyday. She received a wonderful review and the staff can't wait to see her back at Camp Woof next week. I, on the other hand, worried about her the whole day. Thank goodness Camp Woof had cameras set up for online viewing so I could check in on her. Had anyone previously told me I'd ever be acting this silly over a dog, I would have never believed them!

~A new semester means a new binder! While I keep most of my notes and homework stored on my computer, I like to keep all my returned tests, study guides, and various other handouts in one binder. Since I have to carry it to every class for the next four months, I wanted it to look C-U-T-E!

I ended up selecting a Vera Bradley binder in Sittin' in a Tree (I found it at T.J. Maxx for $6.99) and added a seven inch monogram decal from 2Preppy Girls to make it more personalized. I absolutely love how it turned out and I know it's going to make me smile every time I use it!

~I'm loving my new Kindle. I've had the original Kindle since it came out, about four years ago, so it was time to upgrade!

It's so thin compared to the first generation and the case options are amazing. I've got mine in a lime green leather cover that makes it easy to find in my school bag. Here's to meeting my resolution of watching less TV and reading more!

~I'm loving the wrap dresses at Old Navy! They are adorable, affordable, and oh so flattering.

I grabbed one in Serpent today (on sale for $25 in stores) and I swear it fits similar to my Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress. Perfection! I plan on grabbing a few more in solid colors.

I'm taking the leap y'all! Recruitment starts this evening with an information session, then the real deal starts this Friday. I'm a good bit nervous y'all. After all, I'll be a good deal older than some of the young ladies there.

A Little Frilly, a Little Silly

This year I made a resolution to cut back on shopping and when I do shop, to shop smart. Lilly Pulitzer really should have given me a full week before ruining my resolution with their New Year Sale, but hey, a sale is a sale, is a sale y'all!

If you missed the Lilly-palooza last week, you're not totally out of luck in the sale department. While not the Queen of Pink and Green, there are a ton of sales going on this week. Some practical (read as: smart) some a bit more frivolous (read as: forbidden). Let's be honest though; aren't all things frivolous always the most fun?

Getting Down to the Frilly...

So talking panties and bras makes me a bit uncomfortable. But, like every woman, I do have my favorites. I use to be a Vickie's Secrets type of gal, but they never seemed to last me more than a few months (and yes'm, I hand wash) before the wires pop out like Freddie Kruger and draw blood.

Ew. One white tee shirt incident last year forced me to find a new brand. While I'm generally fiercely loyal to brands I use for years, this was just pure laziness on my part. My bras were vicious and they needed to be replaced. Since then I've tried several different brands, but one of my favorites has surprisingly been Maidenform. Yes, Maidenform; a brand I previously thought of as boring, generic, and geared towards the serious and stuffy. Way to prove me wrong ol' standard. Not only do they have some cutie patootie designs, but they're comfortable and I have yet to be attacked.

Because You Can't Suck In All the Time...

Still regretting that divinity and peppermint bark? Oh yeah, me too! With Spring fast approaching (can I get a Hallelujah?) it's time to start thinking about all things fun, sun, and swim. I'm a huge fan of ShapeFX. In fact, they're part of my swimwear trifecta (ShapeFX for modesty, Lilly Pulitzer for cutesy, and Victoria's Secret for tanning). No matter how fit I am, I'd never ever turn down looking a size smaller.

Gift Suggestions for Superwomen, Supermoms, and All Your Everyday Superheroes

We all know those wonderful women and men who seem to endlessly give always be on the go. They always seem to be hopping from one place to another, always ready to help a friend, or a great cause. They balance things like work, school, volunteering, and family seemingly with ease. No matter how easy they make it look, these superheroes need time to replenish themselves too.

Here are my suggestions:

Help your hero stay organizes with Erin Condren’s Life Planner and Notepads. These have been my go-to gifts for my friends this year. There’s no better motivation to stay organized than these beautiful (and amazingly designed) planners. They’re absolutely beautiful and I can’t tell you how wonderfully intuitive they really are. I use mine to keep me on track professionally, make sure my assignments and reading for class are complete, even as a food journal to keep myself aware of what and how I’m eating. I especially love the goal sections. I really think you work harder when you are reminded of what you’re striving towards. The Notepads are adorable and perfect for teachers! They’re my fallback gift this year. When I don’t know what to get someone, I’ve ordered her a Notepad. They’re customizable in tons of colors and sure to be used!

Even the strongest superheroes need a jumpstart sometimes. The Starbucks “Free Brewed” Tumbler (available today only for $19.95) comes with free brewed coffee every single day in January. It’s a gift that keeps giving!

Shopping Tip: Most freestanding Starbucks and their online store sold out of this tumbler quickly this morning. I was able to find one for my superhero at a Starbucks inside my local Target. They had quite a few left. This also makes a great gift for the Supermen in your life too!

Everyone loves a little pampering! I adore the idea of getting the ladies in my life something that’s aimed at relaxation and rejuvenation. I’d just like to put it out there, but I’m pretty sure Captain America digs his bubble baths. Trust me, I had bubbles with him on them (ten years two months ago). I’m enamored with The Body Shop’s Spa Wisdom line, in particular the Morocco Argan products. Right now The Body Shop has all their bath and body products 3 for $30.

That being said, the perfect price doesn’t mean it’s going to be the perfect gift; remember to carefully consider the gift’s recipient when choosing the gift itself. Prize balls seem to be really in this year. I blame Kate Spade; in the best way possible of course!

Mister and I are in the process of making fifteen for the kiddos we’re helping out this Christmas season following these tutorials. We decided to go with placing the biggest items in the middle and working out towards the smallest. I warn y’all, these can take a good while to make, but in my opinion, they’re totally worth it! I can't wait to post pictures of them once they're finished. I was thinking that with a little tweaking, they would also be a lot of fun as New Years Eve party favors.

Why I Am No Longer a ShoeDazzle Customer

Maybe y’all noticed that last week ShoeDazzle disappeared from my “Shop with Me” section. Most likely not, but I still want to explain my decision to no longer support the company.

It came to light last week that a blogger was using photographs originally uploaded to ShoeDazzle’s Facebook page by their customers on his fetish blog. Many of these photographs had been uploaded as entries in a contest (where entry required an uploaded photo,) while others were meant as real life examples of fit and appearance. No woman knowingly uploaded their photograph to ShoeDazzle’s Facebook page thinking they would end up smashed in between professional photographs of nude and partially dressed women on a foot fetish blog.

There are many positive reasons freedom of speech exists and while I fully stand behind it, it’s heartbreaking that women had their pictures abused in such a public and at the same time personal manner. I’m sure many of y’all may question how I could possibly place any blame on ShoeDazzle for this unfortunate incident. Obviously malicious intent can’t be contained, but ShoeDazzle was aware that many women on their Facebook page had made it public in the weeks leading up to the discovery of said blog, that they weren’t comfortable with the man’s presence on the page. His postings on the ShoeDazzle Facebook page made many women feel uneasy and ShoeDazzle received numerous reports of his off-putting and questionable behavior. Even after the apparent abuse when his blog was found and posted, ShoeDazzle waited over twelve hours before blocking the man from the Facebook page where he harvested the photographs. That meant he had access to all of the posted Facebook pictures while having the knowledge that his blog had been found out. He immediately took down his blog, but as we all are all too aware, the damage has been forever done. Those pictures will end up on other fetish sites, along with the cached versions forever haunting the women who posted them.

We should all be careful what we post online, but I have to admit I post pictures to my Facebook all the time without truly considering all the consequences involved. I certainly don’t expect those pictures to ever be linked to fetishism. I truly don’t think it’s even remotely fair that some of the pictures on ShoeDazzle were exploited in such a manner. I’m even further let down in ShoeDazzle for their initial response to the situation.

The first comments by ShoeDazzle representatives explained that the issue would be addressed in the future, but for now, we should forget it and talk fashion. It was later followed up by a post informing their loyal customers that there were two sides to the story and that the blog owner was compassionate enough to remove his blog and since he was a customer (two purchases to his name) he had the right to the content posted on the Facebook page. Compassionate? That made me boil over y’all! He was compassionate enough to remove photographs that he had no legal right to post. The women who uploaded their photographs to the company’s Facebook page as contest entries or as a means to help other women make purchasing decisions were blatantly regarded with less importance than the man who immorally copied and posted them on his blog. These women did not upload their pictures to a fetish blog, have knowledge of such repostings, or provide permission once the repostings were discovered.

For a company that supports various charities through celebrity collaborations, it’s shocking that they would choose to align themselves with a man who stands for the opposite of empowering women as opposed to the women who are loyal and longtime costumers. I have no interest in talking fashion when such an injustice occurs and to imply that something that silly is more important than the comfort and safety of your customer base is degrading.

I refuse to be placed beneath a man who is guilty of exploiting women and I refuse to be belittled. I will no longer be shopping or supporting ShoeDazzle because of the way they handled the situation. Instead of calming their customers, they decided to insult and demean them and in this circumstance I find it beyond vulgar.

As an alternative, I have had great success with Sole Society. Just last week I put out a desperate plea for a graphic designer to help me with the graphic for my family Christmas tees. Luckily, I was put in contact with the lovely Miss Courtney, a cousin of Miss Jacin of Lovely Little Details. Miss Courtney made me feel immediately at ease and the process itself incredibly fun.

I sent her the idea board I had already put together and the general concept of an updated and personalized version of the graphic all in the vein of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I wanted updates along the lines of a SUV instead of the Wagon Queen Family Truckster. I also threw in the pot that I loved Kate Spade and wanted to keep the mood light. Working her magic, Miss Courtney whipped up (and in less that forty-eight hours may I add) this absolutely perfect design...

Perfect, no? I highly recommend Miss Courtney and I personally plan on using her often. If you have a project coming up, big or small you should most definitely email her and regardless you should check out her blog!

Since Miss Courtney was able to get the design done so fast, I should have my tees made and delivered from Zazzle by this evening.

I went with the Basic Tee by American Apparel. Even though their marketing is questionable, I do appreciate that they manufacture their goods in the United States. I plan on bundling the shirts with new pajama pants and dropping them off with a copy of Nation Lampoon's Christmas Vacation at my mom and soon to be ex-stepfathers houses for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

It’s only Thanksgiving, but I’ve already got a list of to-dos for Christmas that feels endless. The easiest to-do to check off? Christmas cards! I love Erin Condren and the cards that we designed this year, but I’m kicking myself since I found out that there’s a much more affordable way to get her amazing Christmas cards. On Thanksgiving...

I’ll be baking chocolate-filled sweet potato cupcakes as featured in Better Homes and Garden's November issue for a sweet snack.

I plan on making the cupcakes extra special by decorating them with this adorable set by Meri Meri. Isn’t it just too much? Sadly I won’t be able to accompany them to their intended destination out of state as Mister has work at eight in the evening and I really want to spend the holiday together.

I will instead be joining Mister’s family for Thanksgiving. While I’ll miss my family, I’m excited to become a part of their yearly tradition. Of course, I’ll stick with my tradition of watching The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

On our way home I’ll plug in my iPhone and play A Very She and Him Christmas. It will officially be acceptable to embrace everything Christmas!

Unfortunately, I’ll have to break out of my turkey coma and venture out to Wal-Mart for their ten o’clock opening. Mister and I are sponsoring a group of children for Christmas and I have got to get my paws on those five dollar Barbies and Hot Wheels. I just hope everyone shopping that evening and the following morning remembers his or her manners in all the bargain madness.

Most importantly, tomorrow I’ll be counting my blessings. I am constantly in awe of all the wonders in this great world. I am still amazed by every day and both the good and bad they contain. Every experience helps me grow in strength and faith. I’m also endlessly thankful for the wonderful friends I’ve made through blogging. Y’all help me through the rough days and urge me to see the possibilities in the occasional lemon. Y’all help me celebrate some of my greatest joys. Thank you. I hope each and every one of you knows that you’re very much appreciated.

Friday night, while trying to rest up for some epic Old Navy shopping, my neighbor let her tween daughter have a sleepover. I live in a townhouse so we pretty much share a wall. Her daughter and her little friends singing karaoke to Adele at two in the morning, after running around outside screaming and otherwise inhibiting my sleep, made me wanna pull a Bon Qui Qui.

I used the time that I was wake and slightly delusional to put in my very first e.l.f. (eyes, lips, face) order. Everyone and their grandmother keep recommending the e.l.f. products to me. While their product reviews sound great, honestly I’m a little skeptical that their products are the same quality as some of the more expensive brands out there, such as NARS and Make Up For Ever.

While browsing a shoe subscription service's Facebook page (yeah, I still do that) earlier this week, I found a post written by someone about my age inquiring about the proper heel height for office wear. I've never really worked in an office that has a stuffy or rigid environment. There was a minor mutiny a few years back when button downs became a requirement for men, but it quickly changed back to just collars. Hallelujah!

Side Note: Short sleeve button downs on men (or women) a la Dwight Schrute, freak me out a little.

I was kind of shocked though to see so many comments on that particular post giving the advice that it isn't the height of the shoes that matter, just the overall image of the shoe with the outfit. Excuse me? I know there are several different workplace environments. More can be gotten away with in fields such as fashion, entertainment, the arts, and publishing; but to advise a twenty-three year old that six inch heels can look professional in the majority of offices is not only misleading, but potentially damaging. Shame on those grown women, who should be steering her in a positive direction, for encouraging her to embrace her "hooker heels" (their words, not my own) in the workplace.

I can't stress it enough, the height of the heel matters. Just as the color of the shoe matters. Would you wear pink shoes with a red suit? Obviously not. What would it say about you? Numerous things; none positive. Should the height of the heel matter? Probably not. Regardless, we humans are judgmental creatures. If you want your work to be taken seriously, especially early in your career, dress for the job. Be a reflection of your work. All ready I've seen people passed over for jobs based on their inability to properly present themselves. Why put yourself in that position over six-inch heels?

I love high heels. My laundry room is full of them. I outgrew just my closet years ago and if I didn't love cooking, they'd probably be stored in my oven too. But, I like to think I know when it's just not proper to wear them and when it's proper to shelve them.

What do you deem as appropriate work wear? Are six inch heels ever acceptable in an office?

Fun fact: It's my 300th entry since switching over to Blogger!

To celebrate, I wanted to give y'all a preview from little Bo's first fashion shoot.

She was all decked our for our Christmas card, where she'll be stealing the spotlight (really, who can compete with that level of adorableness). I'm guessing her career as a model won't go far, cause the gal's all basset. Bo's got an attitude and even Mister proclaimed her a little diva. But, she's a cootie-patootie and I couldn't be more happy with the final results.

One of my weekend goals was to get the perfect holiday puppy picture and finish up ordering our Erin Condren Christmas cards. I love how her site allows you to start your cards and save them until you have your pictures ready. You have no idea how much stress it reduces to break the process up into two different days.

We decided on the Long Horizontal Candy Lace Cards in Christmas. I know I'm gushing at this point, but it took all of ten seconds to upload our picture and finalize our cards. While on a search for Christmas and birthday greeting cards, I stumbled upon CardStore.com. I'm completely obsessed. I've already personalized a few of the signature Taylor Swift cards for my nieces and friends.

Taylor Swift is always such a sweetie, so it's impossible to imagine that the cards she's designed could be anything but heartwarming and adorable. I seriously think this gal poops rainbows and kittens. If you're not feeling the country cutie, there are loads of other designers such as Mary Engelbreit and Bonnie Marcus. Card Store has a new promotion everyday, so I recommend checking back often. I got really lucky last week and ordered a few cards and stationary sets (as stocking stuffers) for eighty-percent off. Brain dump time!

We had our first puppy emergency over the weekend! Someone hit the puppy park way too hard and ended up being a three legged puppy dog! Thinking she had a broken leg (it was way swollen and she wouldn't put any weight on it) we rushed her to the only vet opened on Saturdays that had an x-ray machine.

Isn't she just pitiful? Turns out all she has is a bad sprain! She finally started putting weight on it again, but we're on a ten day park ban.

Bo did feel up to gracing us with her best Jaws impression on Monday evening. Even though I couldn't convince Mister to play along and dress up as Captain Ahab, she was a hit with all the kiddos that came to our door.

Speaking of Halloween, how long can I get away with keeping our gourd Yoda around? I've kind of gotten attached.

Mister's been extra sweet lately and surprised me with red velvet pancakes and cream cheese icing. The man knows how to make a gal swoon! I'm pretty sure I gain about five pounds just looking at the picture of them!

I'm not doing a big post on my picks from variously monthly sites this month and probably won't until Christmas is over. I'm trying to only buy for others the next few months and that's crazy hard when I'm lusting after things myself. Mister taught Bo to grab my credit card and run to the other room with it, so maybe I've been over doing the shopping a bit...that said, I had a credit burning a hole in my online pocket, so I just had to grab The Bow Tie Bracelet.

I think it's going to be just perfect for the upcoming holidays!

Have y'all noticed all the amazing sales as of late? I've been able to load up on a ton of essentials without obliterating my savings. I've always shopped sales; it's pretty much how I was raised. There are a few that I've taken notice to that come around every once in awhile and they always seem to be promising.

Land's End Canvas Classified Sale

It comes around once every few weeks, unfortunately it was last week, so it will be two or so more weeks before it happens again. Prices for a select grouping of clothes and accessories is released on Sunday, generally a good twenty to thirty percent off of retail. Then it's slowly reduced up to ninety-percent off of retail with the following Friday having the largest mark-off and being the last day to purchase.

Last week I managed the impossible and held off until Friday morning and was rewarded with loads of Boyfriend Shirts for only five dollars each! The plain white ones are my idea of the perfect shirt.

The Hot Deal Section on Foreign Exchange's Website

The section truly speaks for itself with a mishmash of just about everything. On occasions there are truly magnificent pieces, such as the above silk skirt for only three dollars. Ignore those questionable boots.

Target

Right now Target has a five dollar off of anything code (TGT75HFN) for online purchases. New codes pop up all the time and finding them is sort of like a game. Since my heart wasn't set on anything in particular, I grabbed another Kiss Baby Lips lipbalm for only fifty cents (for shipping).

I'm loving just loving this balm, so having an extra around didn't seem like a bad idea. Especially in peach.

Inspiration: Halloween Edition

I've already expressed my love of Halloween, but I absolutely abhor those terrible and overpriced costumes that fill the super stores. I'm not talking those adorable creations from Pottery Barn; I'm referencing those plastic messes with collars that don't quite stand up, the costumes that just seem sad in pictures. Since I've become an adult, and luckily in complete control of my costume selection, I've tried to find costumes that are both fun and inexpensive. Nothing packaged and super store bought will do for my picky self.

One of my favorite fall backs (read: always in my closet year round, because y'all would be surprised the costume parties that come calling all times of the year) is inspired by one of the most creative eras. Ready for this y'all?

The seventies! Cheesy? Of course! But, oh so fun y'all!

The One with the Pity Party

Am I the worst blogger ever or what? So far, this week has been something crazy. Poor baby Bo went to the vet to get spayed yesterday, Mister had surgery on his toe, and I've been asking around, trying to get my name on as many prayer lists as possible for my calculus exam today.

I'm scared to death I'm going to fail calculus y'all. My college algebra professor told me at the end of this past spring semester that I'm the only student she's ever had that worked their booty off all semester to barely sneak by with a C in the course. Everything but math seems to come pretty easy for me, but wouldn't you know that no matter how long I study, how many practice problems I try, or who I find that's willing to help me, I just can't get a grasp on math. Ergh. To top it all off, I have a big ole icky presentation today right before my calculus exam.

Now that I've thrown myself a huge pity party, I wanted to leave y'all with a wonderful quote that's really helped me this past week. Maybe it can help one of y'all...

To Dos

For the past few days I’ve been a little sickeepoo and yesterday my body made the executive decision to stay home for me. Since I couldn’t justify lying around all day (just a majority of it), I hit up the less urgent To Do list that I’ve been avoiding.

Meet my current skin tone.

No beach vacation this summer, paired with classes and lots of work, equals one disillusioned and pale Paige. My standing argument for not buying foundation that actually matches my paleness is that we're bound to go out on the boat during an upcoming weekend and I'll finally have a chance to tan.

This past weekend the boat was winterized, so I guess it's about time to accept that I'll be pale (and paler) until early Spring at least. Along with this terrible realization came an email from Stila reminding me it was the last day to participate in the five for five (five different foundations, for only five dollars each, lasting for five days). Serendipitous, if I say so myself. I'm now awaiting a few tubes of their One Step Foundation along with a tube of Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer.

The second order of business, the Christmas card situation, was a little but more dicey. After talking to Mister a few months back, we decided it would be silly to send out two sets of Christmas cards; to save time and money we should send out a card together. He further decided it was beyond ridiculous to talk about Christmas cards in July, so the issue's remained at rest. As expected, reopening the subject was met with an eye roll (him), followed by a few disagreements on color schemes (both of us), wording (him), and designers (me). It turns out I'm a bit more whimsical and he's pretty straight laced. I lean towards designer, the mom and pop mindset if you will, along with the more individual tailored designs, and he leans towards the masses with pre-designed and pre-made cards. I'm pulling for Erin Condren (love her stuff) something wicked and I'm working with her graphic design team to find something both Mister and myself adore. Pray for patience and I'll gladly accept care packages of wine during this time of creative difference.

My Inspiration

I want a cute, fluffy, fifties inspired pill box hat for this winter y'all and I'm just not willing to settle on anything less than perfection.

This Albertus Swanepoel for Target chapeau, aptly named ZsaZsa, is available on October 30th. It's one of those I've just got to have it pieces and I've already warned the love of my life that should this not be obtained, that there will be tears. Pitifully, I'm not even close to kidding about those tears. I want this hat more than I've wanted anything in a very long time.

And finally, the last thing I need to pull the living room together, a few vases to add to the coffee table.

Once again, my secret shame, HSN, sucked me in. Since I already purchased a few items from the Jonathan Adler Happy Chic line for the living room it just made since to check there first. I really love when a room is all tied together and I was thrilled to find The Set of Three Bud Vases in my colors and on sale!

One of my many faults is my inability to change and update.
